Our 15 minutes isn't quite up yet

From The Nation: Lost as Food and Won as a Coast

BTW:  Erica has 'written' over 3,000 poems at her site since the Issue 1 dustup.   In the year and a half before that she'd managed about 1,800.  Well, there you go....  When Poetry speaks, people listen. Alas, nobody listens to me....

Jim,

Just wanted to say that Andrew Hughes and I, editors of TIGHT, were not only honored and thrilled to be included in ISSUE 1 but alternately baffled, amused, enraged, and overwhelmed at how little sense of humor some (and some very well-known) poets have. As has been pointed out, a lot of the stuff in ISSUE 1, as well as what Erica produces, is more interesting that what a lot of "avant" or "post-avant" (whatever) poets are producing.

Maybe I've missed the thread, but I was curious as to how you chose the poets who appeared in ISSUE 1. Was it random? Using an engine of some sort? Andy and I were in there, while others like Whit Griffin (who founded TIGHT with Andy) were not. Again, just curious.

Take care and thanks for ISSUE 1.

Steve selected the names and attached them to Erica's poems. All we did over here was supply the poems. Steve did comment briefly about the process on Harriet: http://poetryfoundation.org/harriet/2008/10/anthology_spoiler.html

All of the conceptual work is Steve's. Erica and I were merely faithful sidekicks.
